Fellowship: Cornea, Refractive Surgery & External Ocular Disease. 1993-1995. Louisiana State University Medical Center, New Orleans, Louisiana, Department of Ophthalmology, under the direction of Herbert Kaufman, M.D. and Marguerite McDonald, M.D.

Honors: Dr. Palmer is the recipient of many local and national academic and research honors and scholarships for his work at both the universities of Nebraska and Creighton. He has published several articles in ophthalmic journals and remains committed to scientific research.

Dr. Palmer practices as both an ophthalmologist and corneal specialist. In addition to the customary medical and surgical training of a general ophthalmologist, he completed an additional two-year educational fellowship specializing in laser vision correction, refractive surgery, external eye disease and corneal physiology and transplantation at the Louisiana State University Eye Center, a world leader in visual research and refractive corneal surgery. He represents the only two-year fellowship-trained refractive eye surgeon in North Florida and South Georgia.

Dr. Palmer is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He serves as a staff ophthalmologist for Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, Capital Regional Medical Center and Doctors Memorial Hospital.
